It is an administrative process in which your passport and the other required documents you have obtained are scanned to complete your application.
Once your application is complete during the appointment or in the following months, it will be submitted for review and approval.
It may be obtained within six months if the applicant brings all required foreign documents to Uruguay and obtains all required Uruguayan documents during the first days of their stay.

Hello everyone, my name is Kari and I’m from Canada.I’ve been trying to get my family residency for 10 years. I finally had what I thought was all the paper work ready and an appointment in Montevideo but then COVID struck. This complicated an already complex process even further.
That’s when I hired Aldo. It made a huge difference, among other things he even filed for successful name amendments when a couple of typo’s on my marriage certificate that stalled my application even further.

I first applied for permanent residency in 2010. The consultant I hired at the time didn’t complete my file and stopped assisting me. I repeatedly tried to finalize the application with the help of different people without success.
The process stalled altogether after the death of my husband who was my partner in life and in this process with his loving support and his fluent Spanish skills.

He reactivated my residency application in 2022 after it was canceled the previous year. He registered the Birth Certificates of me and my sons. He finalized the legalization of my Birth Certificate that wasn’t correctly filed in 2010. He also facilitated and updated all the necessary documents for Immigration including my Background check and my Income Certificate.

I am happy to recommend the services of Aldo Netto. I am a resident here but while I am able live, travel and even do a bit of volunteer work my Spanish isn’t great. And there comes a time when dealing with UY buracracy it is best to admit I needed help!
